Camp Winchester is fully equipped with a great horse program! Our horses are well-trained and kid-friendly and Elisabeth Seale Davis is a knowledgeable CHA riding instructor with 12 years of experience around horses and a love, both for them and for teaching.  Camp has a full-sized arena for practicing and working in, plus 20 acres used for trail riding.

Elisabeth can provide Riding Lessons, Horse Training & Horse Clinics, Pony Rides, Trail Rides.  The Camp hosts Playdays as well as the Camp Winchester Drill Team.  Scroll down or click a button to the side for details.

We offer beginners to advanced WESTERN-STYLE RIDING LESSONS and beginners ENGLISH RIDING LESSONS. These lessons include horse care, horse safety and riding skills for private riders or for groups.  Costs are $30 an hour per person for group lessons, max. 4 per lesson; OR  $40 an hour for private lessons.  Ages 6 to ?

Pony Rides are $8/child for 15 minutes of riding time.  For groups of 10 or more our prices are $6/child.

Or bring your small group out for an instructional TRAIL RIDE.  These include 15 minutes of instruction and arena practice, prefacing a 30 minute ride on the trails.  Costs are $20/person

Elisabeth will provide EQUINE TRAINING for your horse as well.  She has plenty of experience tucked in her belt from working young & old horses alike.  Her goal is to bring them to a point of responsiveness and sensitivity.  She is capable of all areas of groundwork, saddle breaking, legwork, reining and finishing.  Elisabeth will work with you to provide boarding while she trains and offers reasonable rates.  Call her to discuss your needs.  

Starting up as a new opportunity are our Student-involved PLAYDAYS. Each of our students will have the opportunity to show off what they learned in a relaxed family friendly atmosphere! Those that have been bringing their horses to lessons will be welcome to bring them for the event, otherwise we will be assigning to them one of our horses. Click the Playday button above for more information, dates and times.

DRILL TEAM. Now accepting try outs for the Camp Winchester Mounted Drill Team!  Our Drill Team will be performing for our camp playdays and their goal is also to travel locally as they progress.  Cost is the same as lessons: $30 per practice.  Practices are on Friday evenings at 6:00pm. We are also able to provide HORSE CLINICS for small groups of 6 - 12.  These can last anywhere from 2 - 4 hours depending on your needs; and can include horse care and safety instruction, basic riding instruction, & a riding demonstration.  Contact Elisabeth Seale Davis for more information on this, or any other horse related needs.

Pony Parties include horse safety & pony rides for your children for 1 hr.  We will also provide you with a meeting room for cake and presents, or a picnic area in the shade and our kitchen is open to you for your use.  Costs are $100/Pony Party.   For an extra $25 we will also provide you with a pony-themed birthday cake and punch.
